Based around the celebrations of the 150^th anniversary of the completion of the railway link between

 Inverness and Aberdeen. THE LONGEST SHOE BOX TRAIN IN THE WORLD (POSSIBLY) Be part of this momentous event We plan to build the longest train in the world made out of shoeboxes. We hope to involve all the schools, playgroups and children’s groups in the area, and adults too. In fact everyone can take part! You can decorate the carriages, as you like, we just ask you look at the template, which is on the web site, and copy the basic guidelines. 

This train will be displayed at the old Elgin railway station on Saturday August 16^th when the celebrations

take place, and then displayed at St Giles Church in the centre of Elgin, for the public to view during the following week. (18^th to 23^rd August)The best carriages will be

awarded prizes. ‘TRAVEL BY TRAIN’POSTER COMPETITION 

Take part in our competition for a ‘travel by train’ poster. Open to all school aged children. These will be displayed in the hall with the train for the public to view.We will award prizes to the best posters.
